If you have never had chia seed pudding before…you need to have it as soon as possible. It is that good. And one of the best parts of having chia seed pudding is that it is VERY quick and easy to make. This dessert is light, sweet and a nice substitute for ice cream or packaged pudding- I’ve even had it for breakfast before.
WebMD states chia seeds “contain healthy omega-3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and calcium.” So this little pudding will be packing quite a bit of a nutritious value when consumed! Once you try this recipe, I would love to hear any variation suggestions you have in the comments below. 🙂
Simple Chia Seed Pudding:
Ingredients:
- 1/4 Cup chia seeds
- 1 cup almond milk
- Optional: Fruits, nuts, honey
Directions:
- Mix together the chia seeds and almond milk in a bowl.
- Place in the fridge- you can eat it an hour or two later, but I find it best when it’s left in the fridge for 4-6 hours at least.
Seriously, it’s that simple to make chia seed pudding. Some people substitute the almond milk for Greek yogurt. I’ve had friends add strawberries and bananas also. If I use plain almond milk, I like to add some honey right before I eat it. Another favorite of mine is to use dark chocolate almond milk for a chocolaty taste.
