Thanks to a recent rise to fame in social media, coffee scrubs have become some of the most photographed body care products. Coffee lovers can now rejoice even more. These scrubs are extremely simple (and inexpensive!) to make at home – no need to wait for your scrub to arrive in the mail.
For all the daily coffee drinkers out there, this recipe will be even more simple for you, in part due to the fact that you have coffee grounds at home. And for all the tea drinkers out there, you’re bound to have a coffee obsessed friend or neighbor close enough to provide you with some of their grounds.
The coarse nature of the coffee grounds act as a natural exfoliator and the hydrating and soothing nature of coconut oil leaves your body soft and silky.
Ingredients needed:
- ¼ cup plain coffee grounds
- ¼ cup coconut oil (unrefined, cold pressed) *Use a little less than ¼ cup for a thicker scrub
Mix everything together, and apply to face (gently) and body. *Tip – If using in the shower, be prepared to possibly spend a few minutes cleaning. The coffee grounds may leave a tint. Or throw on an old bikini and apply and rinse outside without needing to clean up.

I love doing coffee scrubs! I add an equal amount of brown sugar as well for extra exfoliation. And I like to dry brush my legs before I apply the scrub.

Brown Sugar and sea salt are some of my favorite extras to add for exfoliation! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
