The car started shaking – no swaying – as we got nearer to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in Colorado. Tumbleweeds, which apparently exist not just in cartoons, were pelting our car. Great Sand Dunes National Park is located pretty much in the middle of nowhere, near Mosca, Colorado and features America’s tallest sand dunes. It’s about a 3.5 hour drive from Colorado Springs. The nice thing about traveling is that there is no set time limit – you can travel for a few years, months, weeks, days, or even just for one day. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. It’s basically a fact of life. Hot day outside – eat some ice cream. Got a bad grade on your biology exam? Eat some ice cream. If I had to sum up my opinion of Nosara in two words, it would be: SIMPLY AMAZING.
