January may soon be over, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to make goals and intentions for 2019! My latest article offers tips for making 2019 a successful, adventurous and energizing year. Continue reading “Make 2019 Your Year”
I wasn’t planning on writing this post. I thought about it, especially in this social media-obsessed world where sharing every one of your life’s details is normal, if not encouraged. Maybe I should share what happened. Maybe it would help others.
But I kept going back and forth in my mind.
Maybe it wasn’t sexual assault. Others have gone through worse. Maybe I’m overreacting. It’s over, so why not just move on.
But I couldn’t move on. Mentally. Physically. Emotionally. Days later and I still felt withdrawn, ashamed, and dirty. And I didn’t even do anything. Continue reading “I wasn’t going to share this: #metoo”
Okay, so I have to share this article because it totally applies to me (and I’m sure thousands of other people who tend to overpack). The more you travel, the better you get at packing. You realize what you do really need (such as toiletries, one pair of sturdy shoes, etc.) and what you don’t need (ten shirts, 5 pairs of pants, 3 shirts per day – all for a weekend trip). For this travel news post, you’ll learn how flight attendants, those constant travelers, pack for each trip. Hint: It doesn’t involve many things – just strategy. Continue reading “How To Pack Light”
If you live near mountains, or even hills higher than 10 feet, than count yourself lucky. Because if you live in Florida for a few years, you’ll probably forget that walking up a hill requires some exertion, and walking up a mountain trail filled with large rocks and tree stumps will require even more exertion. This was the case when I went hiking in Boulder, Colorado. But the outstanding views made all the struggling worth it. Here are three hikes you need to tackle when you go to Boulder. Ahh packing – pretty much my favorite thing to do (insert sarcasm). I’m always super jealous of the travelers I meet who love packing, or who can properly pack within a few hours. For me, packing isn’t necessarily hard, it’s the decision-making process that haunts me (and often amounts to me questioning just how much clothing to bring). I created a list for my two-month backpacking trip to India, but after two-months, here’s what I really needed, and what you may find you need to pack. When traveling abroad, I try to avoid any chain restaurants, especially American restaurants. The last thing I want to do is go all the way to a new country, and only eat foods I can easily have in my own country. And in my opinion, tasting new foods is one of the best ways to experience a culture! However, there do come times when you realize you’ve only got small change and there are no ATMs in sight, or you crave some sugary, terrible-for-you fast food from home. In times like these, you cave and enter the nearest Dunkin’ Donuts/ Burger King/ McDonalds. Here’s what you’re missing (or not missing), at several of these places in India… Continue reading “Trying American restaurants in India “
Living in Paris for 5 months was an absolute dream. I don’t know how I’m going to pick just 13 things to do, it’s nearly impossible, but here goes…

Getting here was the only bad part of Greece. Oh… and almost dying on an ATV I guess. Thira is a tricky island to get to. You either ferry or fly from Athens, Greece. We choose the ferry which happened to go on strike for the first time in 10 years. Needless to say, we choose the wrong transportation on that day. After some tears and a very expensive flight we were on our way to…

I came to Croatia with no expectations. We decided to stop here before spending a few days in Greece. I honestly was so excited for Greece that I really didn’t care about seeing Croatia. That is, until we arrived in Dubrovnik…

This was one of my favorite destinations, although I wish we could have spent a month here instead of just five days. This place was so different than any of the others I had been to!
