The other week I ventured up to central Florida to visit some friends and go swimming at one of the natural springs in the area. I’d never been to the springs before, so I was super excited and not all sure of what to expect. I thought the water would be cold (I was right) and clearer than the ocean (which definitely helped the GoPro pics come out better). Continue reading “Starting Spring at Florida’s Alexander Springs”

3 Recipes to Try Now
When you’re in a rush, it can be tempting to choose the closest pre-made packaged food within an arm’s length. Our busy lives often cause us to place our health way down on our list of daily priorities. However, eating healthy can be easy….and quick. In my experience, it’s all about finding foods that I love to eat (such as specific fruits/veggies/grains, etc.) and searching for recipes or more often than not, just creating my own recipes with the foods I have at home. The following recipes I usually make for breakfast, but they are so versatile that they make a great snack or evening dessert. Continue reading “3 Recipes to Try Now”

Protect Yo’self
Looking for sunscreens these days isn’t hard. But looking for natural sunscreens with limited chemicals can be harder- especially if you are trying to get as much product for your dollars as you can. Often, the more expensive “natural” sunscreens contain significantly less sunscreen than the cheaper, more-chemicals-added popular sunscreens. And when I say “natural,” these sunscreens may claim to be natural when they still contain harmful chemicals. Knowing ingredients and what added chemicals are harmful will be helpful in finding the right sunscreen. Recently I’ve been on the lookout for a more natural sunscreen that doesn’t break the college student’s bank account. While I haven’t found many natural/organic products at Walmart before, I came across this sunscreen brand called Hang Ten. Continue reading “Protect Yo’self”
Q&A With Rebekah Steen from Goldfish Kiss
Hey everyone!
Just thought I’d share with you all a link to view a Q&A interview I did with Rebekah Steen, creator of Goldfish Kiss blog. She’s a total beach babe who takes awesome pictures, provides some pretty relevant advice, and has such cute DIY projects (I’ve made her repurposed tee “rope” bracelets and I’m eagerly wanting to recreate some of her mani/pedi designs). Rebekah’s blog is one of the first blogs I came across, and was really influential in why I wanted to create a blog as well! So it was pretty surreal to get to interview her! And she’s so down-to-earth and full of happiness…which is totally visible through her blog and Instagram.
I’m a contributing blogger for indieSWIM, a swimwear company based in South Florida, so my interview with Rebekah is posted on the indieBLOG. Click here to give it a read and let me know what you think! And I have a few other posts on the indieBLOG, such as a smoothie bowl recipe and some advice pieces for your perusal as well. Feel free to let me know of any ideas or suggestions for potential future posts you would like to see on the indieBLOG page.

Hot Yoga- My First Class and Some Tips for Beginners

Yesterday I participated in a hot yoga class for the first time. I was excited yet nervous. The fact that I would be attempting to do yoga in an approximately 100+ degree room was somewhat terrifying. What if I overheated and died? Yes, that was a valid question to me. What if the heat was too much for me and I could barely do the yoga poses? What if I looked stupid?
